Buddy Hyphen Baker Website Network Status Page (Updated 12/20/2017 @08:25 EST) avatar

November 24, 2017 (14:33 EST): All Sites within the BB DOT Services Network have been updated: Current Versions of the Plugins used on BBUS and BBDC and the Dot Com Gateway page have been updated, and any updates that the WordPress system recommended have been added, and if necessary and prudent, necessary plugins activated for consistency.  Most of the work that will occur will be on the Main gateway index page, as we will be able to maintain each pretty quickly and easily once we figure out how to present the information we want to serve to the public.  Also, all of the Themes that are available throughout the network have been updated to current version, even if they are not currently being used.  This will insure that the wordpress installs sitewide are all running the most current version possible.

November 24, 2017 (14:45 EST):  The BBUS root (/) page on buddy hyphen Baker DOT US will be removed and eventually will be redirected so that visitors to Buddy Hyphen Baker Dot US root (/) page will see action on Buddy Hyphen Baker Dot Com/Main/ – This will be the Page where you will be able to see a “roadmap” of what we offer for Products and Services.  Commercial Services will be listed under Dot Com Services, while other services like Internet/Shell/Website Services and Tech Support services would be listed under Dot Us Services.

November 24, 2017 (15:00 EST):  Blog services on BBUS will continue to be available to users if they directly access the blog via the full URL – This way, if they want to get to a particular service, it would be available to you.  Once we are ready to launch the new Gateway Page, any access to BBUS root directory will bring you to Buddy Hyphen Baker Dot Com, where you will then get to select it from the Gateway Page.

December 1, 2017 (10:15 EST):  BB Hyphen Services were down for an hour or so this morning, while configuration changes were made to the site.  BBDC and BBUS were in one configuration file originally, so I make changes so that each site on the network would have its own config file.  I also removed the default config file, as this was confusing and unnecessary.

December 20, 2017 (@08:07 EST): BB Hyphen Services received a WordPress Plugin Update:  We went from the YouTube (Free) Plugin to the YouTube PRO Plugin.  All Service domains (DOT Us, Dot Com and Dot Org) got this update.  This will allow me to serve YouTube content on all sites.  There was a problem with an IE privacy blocking extension that made me think that it would not allow me to play YouTube Video – This has been corrected, and New API keys were generated and added – bsb

December 20, 2017 (@08:15 EST):  Backups for DOT us services will be performed this weekend.  All sites will be backed up, followed by a Database backup and an XML File dump to insure we have an updated database and all of the blog content.  DOT org and DOT Com services will be backed up shortly after this, to inure that we have all the proper content.  We also have to inspect Dropbox’s Plugin, as it did NOT backup the files for BBUS and send them to the Dropbox account.  These is a problem with the functionality of the Plugin, and it may be due to the fact that Dropbox needs an update.

SSL/TLS Reactivation:  This has been completed as of 12/30/2017 @ 12:00 PM: this will allow visitors to see a LOCK ICON on all sites that have it active.  at this time, the only site that has the SSL/TLS (https://) set up for all pages is the DOT us page.  This morning, I was able to activate this on DOT Com, DOT Org and DOT us.  All that must happen now is to force wordpress to use  https.  I just have to remember to check this every 60 to 90 days.

ALL Buddy Hyphen Baker services are functioning normally, and this config cleanup is one step in cleaning up the site and making it easier for our users and visitors to navigate the site, and for the admin to be able to quickly make changes to the system web configs.

  1. I’m impressed, I must say. Seldom do I come across a blog that’s both educative and entertaining,
and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail on the head. The problem is an issue that too few people
are speaking intelligently about. I’m very happy I found this during my search for something regarding this.
