SERVICE ALERT:  BBUS BLOG REGISTRATIONS

This weekend, (4/3/16) I received an email from a user that I thought was a spammer, that signed up for an account for the blogging system.  the domain was mail.ru – in response to this, I have disabled new user registrations for blog services for the short term, until I can get a domain-level block tool to get rid of spamming registrations. 

 

(mail.ru is a russian domain that is known for spammy junk as far as I am aware).

 

BBUS is already controlling comments by setting up an approval system.  If a BBUS Admin approved a comment from a registered user, that user may comment on anything that is posted, if the comments are open.

 

If a user is granted a blog level account, they will be able to post if they are granted a level higher then Subscriber – Buddy will adjust this if he grants pre-registered accounts.
